Replica Rolex Watch Terminology: The Submariner Watch

So, you’re a first time replica watch buyer considering purchasing a Submariner watch because you know it’s the one James Bond wore – but that’s pretty much where your knowledge drops off and you’re not sure what some replica Rolex watchproduct descriptions mean?  This month we’ve got a Glossary of terms that will have you talking pro in a matter of minutes:

Face: This is the front of the watch – the part that tells the time.

Bezel: This is the ring that surrounds the watch face.

Chronograph: This is a fancy word for ‘stopwatch’. Essentially anything that can be stopped and started to keep track of elapsed time.

Chronometer: This means that the item has been put through it’s paces – tested at different temperatures and pressures. Some companies even provide a certificate stating that it’s passed the test.

Crystal: This refers to the transparent cover of the watch, regardless of the material – your average replica Rolex watch can have a ‘crystal’ that is made of glass crystal, synthetic sapphire, or high-grade plastic.

Movement: This is the machinery that makes your Submariner watch go – the gears that drive the hands, make the calendar re-set. Anything that even twitches does so on account of the ‘movement’, which can be either quartz, or mechanical.

That’s all for this month, folks. These are some fairly basic terms that get tossed around a lot. Give it a whirl: go check out the page for our Submariner watch, and see if you can put your new knowledge of replica Rolex watchterminology to use – are things making sense?
