how does the gold plating hold up?

What is the difference on a swiss made and a non swiss made submariner?

The major difference between the swiss automatic and the japanese automatic is the quality. The swiss movement is better quality, more reliable and more durable. It's the same type of mechanism the authentic designs have. It has 25 jewels, comparing to the japanese one, which has 21.

The body of the watch is the same, stainless steel 440 (for some models plated with 18k gold).

All our gold plated watches have 5 microns gold plating. We use 440 solid stainless steel for the case and bracelet.
